What you'll need
Step by step
Method
- Rinse the filterPut the filter in the V60 over your cup or carafe and rinse it with hot water. This washes out the paper taste and warms the brewer. Tip that water out.
- Add the coffeeGrind 15g medium-coarse, add it to the filter and give it a gentle shake to level the bed.
- BloomStart your timer and pour 50ml to wet all the grounds. Let it sit for 30 seconds while the gas escapes.
- PourAt 0:30, pour 100ml in slow, small circles.
- FinishOnce it drains a little, pour the last 100ml. Let it drain through completely, aiming to finish between 2:15 and 2:45.
Troubleshooting
Dial it in
- Finishing too fast and tasting thin or sour? Grind finer next time.
- Finishing too slow and tasting bitter? Grind coarser.
- Use filtered water if you can. It makes a real difference in a clean brew like this.
